ST. POPE JOHN PAUL II

My original portrait of the Roman Catholic Polish Pontif, St. John Paul II, birth name Karol Wojtyla. Elevated to the Papacy in 1978 and holding that position until 2005, he served 27 years, the third longest in the history of the Papacy. He was the first non Italian Pope and was the recipient of the U.S. Presidential Medal Of Freedom presented by President Ronald Reagan. This most popular world religious figure was canonized a saint in the Roman Catholic Church in 2020. Rendered in the Gouache medium on heavyweight illustration board with archival materials under UV ray safe plexiglass, with an inscribed brass plaque and a beautiful gold frame.
